Application administrators can add or modify user definitions by
selecting Admin -> Users from the menu bar. Analysts with rule
definition authority may display but not modify the users
information.
The roles that may be assigned to users include:
- Administrator: This role has superuser access to the
application
- Analyst: This role provides read access to IDS data, and
the capability to create incident reports
- Analyst Define Rules: This role has the same access as
Analyst plus the capability to define new rules and export
them to IDS Sensors
- Analyst Read Only: This role provides read-only access
to IDS data and reports
- Database Daemon: This role must be defined when the
application is first configured
